My journey to empowering births
My path into birth work began with my own experiences. When I was pregnant with my first child, I yearned for a birth experience different from common narratives. Discovering HypnoBirthing® provided me with invaluable tools, leading to an absolutely beautiful and redemptive birth with my second child. This profound experience ignited a desire within me to share with others how truly calm, peaceful, and empowering birth can be. I am passionate about helping families reconnect with and embrace their power as they journey through this incredible rite of passage.
Welcome! I'm Amelia, the heart behind Ubuntu Birth and Beyond. My passion is to help women and birthing people rediscover their innate power, guiding them through a transformative journey of pregnancy and birth that can be beautiful, calm, and deeply empowering.
A doula's calling: unique support for every family
After three years of teaching HypnoBirthing, the world of doula support called to me. I transitioned from my full-time HR career to pursue my true passion: birth work. While I had previously supported friends and family through their births, it was the requests from the very families I taught that prompted me to consider it professionally. My comprehensive doula training through StillBirthDay and my experience as a midwife assistant has further equipped me to offer a unique blend of informed, empathetic, and empowering support tailored to each family's individual needs and desires.

At the core of Ubuntu Birth and Beyond is a deep understanding that birth is a transformative event for everyone involved. It holds the power to wound or to heal. My philosophy centers on being a conduit for healing, serving as a guide to help reconnect you to your own power and agency. Bearing witness to self discovery and supporting individuals and families as they navigate this journey with strength, dignity, and peace is one of my greatest joys. I believe that with the right support, every birth can be an experience that builds and uplifts, rather than diminishes.
